Project goals

The Corning Museum of Glass is a non-profit museum dedicated to exploring a single material: glass, annually welcoming over 300,000 visitors from around the world. For this rebrand, I wanted to explore the material of glass and how that could be incorporated into the brand identity. I decided to use yellow throughout the identity, since the color is known to be representative of creativity, and evokes inspiration and optimism.

The final logo I landed with is the acronym CMOG, and a graphic of a glassmaking punty rod with a glass ball on the end. A punty is the metal rod that is used in glassmaking to heat and mold the glass. Weaving this graphic in and out of the CMOG letters, I was able to create a satisfying logo mark for the company, that also reflects the company’s main focus.

MOBILE SITE PROTOTYPE

Using figma, I created a prototype of a site for the museum, to build upon the brand identity that I built. I created a four page site, including the Home, About Us, Visit Us, and Contact pages. The prototype is interactive, and responsive for mobile, tablet, and desktop.
